A straight forward ‘up and over’ in Richmond, TW10 recently started well before we realised that the gable wall was extremely unstable.
A lack of over hang along the verge meant that not only had the the wall become saturated but so too the adjacent timber rafters.
Unforseen issues such as this are common on roof replacements and are to be expected.
We stripped the gable wall down immediately for safety and arranged suitable labour to have it re-built, followed by new timber work.
Canadian Glendyne slate was then installed to the pitched elevations along with code 5 lead to the dormer cheeks and a 3 layer felt system to the dormer top.
